1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using getbibbuddy.com (the "Site") or any BibBuddy service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

These terms apply to all visitors and users of the Site, including those who join the waitlist, browse the blog, or (once launched) use the BibBuddy marketplace.

2. What BibBuddy is

BibBuddy is a peer-to-peer platform that connects runners who want to exchange race entry bibs with runners who want them, and connects runners looking for race weekend accommodation with local runners who have space to offer.

BibBuddy is a marketplace platform, not a transfer agent or accommodation provider. We facilitate connections between users. We are not a party to any transaction, agreement, or arrangement made between users through the platform. Users transact directly with each other.

3. Waitlist

During the pre-launch period, BibBuddy collects email addresses from runners who want to be notified when the platform launches. By joining the waitlist you agree to receive a launch notification email and occasional pre-launch updates. You can unsubscribe at any time. Joining the waitlist creates no other obligation on either party.

4. Blog content and guides

BibBuddy publishes guides and articles about race weekend accommodation, bib transfers, and related topics. This content is provided for informational purposes only.

• Accommodation price estimates in our guides are indicative only, based on historical data, and may not reflect current market conditions.
• Transfer policies, deadlines, and event rules described in our guides are subject to change by race organisers. Always verify current information on the official event website.
• BibBuddy does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any information in our guides.

All blog content is © 2026 BibBuddy. You may share links to our guides freely. You may not reproduce substantial portions of our content without written permission.

5. Marketplace rules (applies once platform launches)

When the BibBuddy marketplace is live, the following rules apply to all users:

Bib transfers:

• You must only list race entries that you legitimately hold and have the right to transfer.
• You must accurately represent the entry — race, distance, date, and any restrictions on transfer.
• You must comply with the transfer rules of the relevant race organiser. Some events prohibit peer-to-peer transfers entirely. It is your responsibility to check.
• You must not list entries for events that explicitly prohibit third-party transfers (such as World Athletics Majors including the Sydney Marathon).
• You must not misrepresent a bib, charge above face value where prohibited, or engage in fraudulent transactions.

Race accommodation:

• Hosts must accurately represent their accommodation — location, distance to race infrastructure, facilities, and house rules.
• Guests must treat hosts' properties with respect and adhere to agreed check-in/check-out times and any house rules.
• All accommodation agreements are directly between host and guest. BibBuddy is not responsible for the condition of accommodation, the behaviour of guests, or any disputes arising from stays.

6. Prohibited conduct

You must not use BibBuddy to:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Engage in any transaction intended to defraud another user
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute BibBuddy content without permission
• Use automated tools to access or interact with the platform
• Violate any applicable law, including Australian Consumer Law

BibBuddy reserves the right to remove any listing, suspend any account, or ban any user who violates these rules, at our sole discretion and without notice.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, BibBuddy and its operators are not liable for:

• Any loss arising from a bib transfer that does not proceed as expected, including where a race organiser rejects a transfer
• Any loss arising from accommodation booked through the platform, including property damage, injury, or disputes between hosts and guests
• Any inaccuracy in our blog guides or other content
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses of any kind

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

8. Intellectual property

All content on getbibbuddy.com — including text, design, code, and the BibBuddy name and logo — is owned by BibBuddy and protected by Australian copyright law. All rights reserved.

You may link to our site and share our content on social media. You may not reproduce, republish, or commercially exploit our content without written permission.

9. Third-party links

Our blog guides link to race organiser websites, accommodation platforms, and other third-party sites. These links are provided for convenience. BibBuddy does not endorse, control, or take responsibility for the content or practices of any third-party site.

10. Changes to these terms

These terms will be updated when the BibBuddy marketplace launches and additional features are available. Material changes will be communicated to registered users by email. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland, Australia.
